“Bright” intends to become a point of reference for journalists, “wannabe” journalists, politicians, researchers and students who are interested in the topic of organised crime.
Through the collaboration and the joint commitment of professional journalists, the online magazine will give a more analytical and in-depth analysis of organised crime in specific territories. Journalists need to be professionally active in their territories, of which they know and have a knowledge of criminal dynamics. It is indeed essential to be able to count on “local” collaborators, who are credible when it comes to provide journalistic contents on organised crime in their country. FLARE intends to give a European visibility through the online magazine to the work of such journalists and to their commitment.
Inquiries and in-depth article will be the type of material the magazine has to be able to offer. The co-ordination is in the hands of FLARE editorial staff and part of “Narcomafie” editorial staff. “Narcomafie” is an Italian monthly magazine that covers organised crime thematics for over 15 years.
The contents to be published on the online magazine can be solicited by a number of sources: the editorial staff; international and Italian journalists and collaborators; the Observatory (see above); and FLARE’s Scientific Committee who will provide a more scientific approach to the contents.
“Bright” also intends to become a training opportunity for international young journalists or journalism students on which they can find space for specific contents that are often forbidden to public on their own territories. This way, a chance of improving their skills and trainings for becoming journalists of organised crime related topics are provided.
