The project
eng EST Project aims at initiating a communication flow between Western and Eastern Europe, passing through Europe's capital, Brussels.
EST should be seen as a linking bridge between two worlds through which European citizens move under the spotlight two EU member states (Italy and Romania) and a common threatening issue. Organised crime.
The need to raise awareness and inform citizens about the diffusion of transnational organised crime is as urgent as to involve citizens themsleves into a information flow on the matter.

eng Running after Mafia Inc. in order to better understand the reason behind the power of the world's most powerful company. Organised crime no longer operates within limited peripherical territories, it is now a corporation able to affect economies at continental level.
By investing enormous amount of illegally acquired money into our economies, mafias weaken civil rights and undermine democracy worldwide.
Through the powerful mean of television enquiries and by following European citizens' activism we intend to offer informative tools, from Italy to Romania passing through Europe's capital, Brussels.
Project EST is focused on three main issues: the launder of money through the construction business; the infiltration of organised crime into the the renewable energy business; and an overview of the legislative countermeasures in place in EU, starting from the “crime of mafia association”.
Nine enquiries will be broadcasted on internet and on RaiNews24. They will also form the contents for a two-day workshop at the Ilaria Alpi Television Journalism Award to be held in Riccione, Italy, in June 2011.
ita L’esigenza di informare i cittadini riguardo l’espansione e la presenza della criminalità organizzata è impellente quanto coinvolgere i cittadini nella creazione di flussi informativi in materia.
L’analisi transnazionale si concentra su tre principali aree tematiche in cui indagare l’influenza criminale in Europa: l’immigrazione, gli investimenti in ambito energetico e in ambito immobiliare.
