Regulation for participants
1. APPLICATION - The participation in Otranto Legality Experience is subject to a selection process and to the payment of a participation fee. - All candidates must be over the age of 18 - The Call for application will be open starting from July 13, 2010. - The number of available places is 100 from Italy and 100 from abroad (both EU and non-EU Countries). - The deadline for application is August 13th, 2010. - FLARE reserves the right to close the application process before the deadline in case the number of requests exceeds the number of available places. In this case, potential candidates will be informed via FLARE's website and by means of announcement lists. - FLARE reserves the right to delay the application process deadline in case there are available places after the aforementioned deadline. In this case, potential candidates will be informed via FLARE's website and by means of announcement lists. - The application requests received will be subject to a selection process. 2. SELECTION - The application forms will be examined immediately as FLARE receives them. - The selection of candidates will be based upon the following criteria: - Their education field(s) best match those to be treated during OLE; - Their courses of study and/or current occupation best match the matters to be treated during ole; - Their motivation and/or experience best match the profile and characteristics of OLE's activity programme. - During the selection process, gender equality and uniformity of (geographic) provenance will be taken into account along with the aforementioned criteria. - The candidates who best meet the aforementioned criteria will be immediately selected and personally notified using the contact information provided with the Application form submitted. - The other candidates will be put on hold until the selection process is concluded, and however until the deadline for application at the latest. - If there are available places remaining at the end of the first selection process, a second selection round will be carried on. Some of the candidates on hold might be selected at this time for participation and personally notified using the contact information provided with the Application form submitted. 3. SUBSCRIPTION AND FEES - The subscription process completion is subject to the payment of the participation fee. The status of participant will only be recognised after the payment of the fee. - The participation fee amount is EUR 150.00 per person. - Upon notification, the selected candidates will be also notified of the available payment options. After the payment is duly completed, the participant will be officially enrolled in the participant list. - The participation fees gives the participant the right to: - Take part in all the seminars and training activities in the framework of the OLE; - Take part in all the side events and cultural offerings included in the programme. - Take part in all the visits included in the programme. - The costs for accommodation and half-board lodging will be fully covered by FLARE. - No extra costs, with the exception of those listed above, will be held as eligible for claims or reimbursement by FLARE in any event. - Travel costs (travel tickets, visas, travel insurance) are entirely in charge of the participants. - The participants who need visas in order to travel to Italy may require an invitation letter from FLARE. - Invitation letters may be required by sending an e-mail to secretariat@flarenetwork.org, specifying "Visa for Otranto Legality Experience" in the subject, and providing the number and date of expiration of the passport, as well as the name of the issuing authority and the e-mail address or fax number the invitation letter should be sent to. - No costs regarding visa applications or visa costs will be covered by FLARE. FLARE takes no responsibility or liability in case of rejection of visa applications.

4. CANCELLATION/RETREAT - In compliance with the Directive 97/7/CE, May 20th 1997, and with the Italian law (Decree 190, August 19th 2005), the subscriber has the right to retract from a remotely signed agreement for a maximum of 7 days after subscription. - Accordingly, the candidates who have been selected and undergo the subscription process will have the right to retract for a maximum of 7 days after the first confirmation of their participation. In case they have already paid the participation fee, they have the right to be reimbursed, provided that their claim is reached by FLARE no more than 5 working days after the payment. - In case of a reimbursement due to retreat, only the participation fee can be reimbursed. No reimbursement will be recognised for airplane tickets, travel reservations or any other cost incurred other than the participation fee.

5. PRIVACY - The personal and contact information provided along with the Application form will be treated in compliance with the Italian law (Decree 196, June 30th 2003) on the Protection of personal data and with the EU Directive 95/46/EC on the Protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. - Accordingly, at the moment of the submission of their Application form, all the candidates will be requested to expressly accept an informative statement on data protection, stating their right to the protection of their personal information. - The informative statement will include explicit consent to the treatment and processing of personally identifiable information, solely for the purpose of the completion of the application and subscription process. - The contact and personal information provided with the Application form will not be distributed to third parties or processed for reasons other than the completion of the application and subscription process, and will be stored securely and in full compliance with the Italian privacy law.
