Paris: Day of memory, victims and commitment against organised crime
An event in Paris to commemorate and reflect upon the victims of transnational organised crime
In Italy, each March 21st, Libera holds a Day of Memory to commemorate the victims of the mafias and their commitment in the fight for legality.
On 4th April in Paris FLARE, Libera International, Association Démocrates Paris and Mafia? Nein Danke! organises an event to recall the civil society's work at the side of the victims and to discuss with them.
The event will see the participation of deputy Mrs. Georges Pau Langevin, in charge of justice affairs at the National Assembly for the Parti Socialiste.
During the meeting Fabienne Boulin (Association Robert Boulin) and Elizabeth Borrel will tell about their commitment for the triumph of justice and truth: two fundamentals of the fight against organised crime.
The Maison des Journalistes, represented by Agil Khalil (a journalist threatened in Azerbaijan), Ilya Politkovsky (Anna Politkovskaya's son) and Viviana Matrangola will give their testimony.
Maria Chiara Prodi and Roberto Forte will introduce Libera and FLARE.
Laura Garavini, an Italian Deputy elected in Germany, will introduce the experience of Mafia? Nein Danke.
The attendees will have moreover the chance of enjoying, thanks to Ethicando, some products by Libera terra manufactured on land confiscated to the mafias.
A special thank to the Commission Fédérale Culture du Parti Socialiste of Paris, which is supporting a law proposal, based on the Italian model, for the confiscation and social reuse of goods seized to organised crime gangs.
