Central Asia: how to prevent and fight corruption ?

A conference in Brussels to stress the importance of passing the EU's experience in preventing and fighting corruption to the emerging countries of the Central Asia region

FLARE Network and Open Dialogue Foundation, under the auspices of MEP Marek Migalski, Association for Human Rights in Central Asia and The Eastern Correspondent, organise on 22nd June a one-day conference in the European Parliament in Brussels to discuss corruption as social, economic and political problem in the Central Asia region.

The conference will see tha participation of representatives of the civil society and media from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kirghistan that, together with MEPs and representatives of European organisations fighting corruption, will try to find a common way of dealing with illegal actions, including illegal finacial operations committed in Central Asia and often involving European companies entering new markets.

Session II: The role and experience of the EU in its fight against corruption – monitoring of the problem and actions undertaken for improvement of the situation in Central Asia
